Raptor50 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 153A Army Rotary Wing Aviators, Does anyone know what type of auditory device the physician uses to check your ears for a Class 1A physical for WOFT? I have a very small pin-hole of a perforated ear drum. When my ENT physician has examined my ear with just a lighted magnified instrument, he cannot view my perforation, but when he uses a machine that operates similar to a sonar, this machine will detect a small perforation. I am curious if I should go ahead and get the perforation repaired or cross my fingers and hope it will not be discovered. Thanks Quote
SBuzzkill Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I would disclose it to the doc, and let him decide whether or not you will be fit to fly. Quote
