CJ87
Hey folks I'm 25 years old with a family but really wanting to pursue my dream of being an ag pilot. Looking for any advice on the best/cost efficient way to be certified. I plan to purchase my own equipment before, during, or after training and work for myself. CJ87
I guess another question is it an option to get a private license and then build up hours using my own equipment and then go back and get certified in ag?
apiaguy
yes, I would recommend getting your private... then if you can purchase your own go from there... the ag world is more costly to get set up that it would seem from the outside and few are willing to help someone who is going to compete. To do ag for other than your own farm land you will need your commercial first before you can "get certified in ag" which is a part 137 certificate from the faa. I would recommend getting in with an operator near you and discussing your desire and see if you can do your flight training with them.
