Hiring a Helicopter

Hi Everyone, not sure if this is the right place to post, but i've been scouring the internet for answers and thought i'd ask here.

my 2 year anniversary is coming up and i was looking around to see if my plan would be possible.

i basically want to hire a helicopter to pick me and my gf up in orange county and fly us to a rooftop in downtown la (like a hotel - ritz carlton) and drop us off to have dinner.

is this possible? who should i go to? any advice?

thanks.

There are more than a few operators in the LA basin. Google "r44 helicopter charter los angeles" and you'll get several options. Call and tell them you are interested in a charter flight, explain what you have in mind and they will tell you if it's possible. There are many reasons it may or may not be but if they can't do exactly what you're asking they will undoubtedly have other cool options that you probably haven't even considered.

Have fun!

There is not a single public use heliport in Los Angeles, including all the rooftops. The closest you could come (if you went to a Part 135 operator) is to fly you from John Wayne or Fullerton up to Santa Monica, grab a limo and then have dinner...prob cheaper to have the limo take you home!

Couple nice restaurants right at the Santa Monica airport, plus you could cruise downtown and the coast a bit before landing.

There are lots of tour helicopter companies in LA, but they cannot do charter flights, which is what you are asking for. Briles Helicopters at Van Nuys is a charter operator...dont know any in OC.

Orbic helicopters located at Van Nuys specializes in private tours, and they have landing zones they use for private scenic sunset catered picnics. Be sure to have an alternate plan for your anniversary event as flying is weather dependent. Flying in heavy wind or winter storms is not the way to celebrate. Some of the wineries in Temecula are helicopter friendly if you make the request.

Also, you can fly further than LA, like Santa Barbara or Palm Srprings, for your evening helicopter adventure. While your at it, buy a logbook and log your first lesson! And let your partner fly the return trip home, and log time too.
