Helipad Use (Downtown Los Angeles)

I find myself frequently travelling to downtown LA and was wondering if there are restrictions for use of the helipads located on most of the highrise buildings?

 

Has anyone used these before? If so, what's the process for getting approval for them?

All helipads with in L.A. City limits are for Emergency use only.

You won't be able to get permission. The only time I landed anywhere in the L.A.

City limits was at Hooper Heliport. That is the LAPD heliport and J knew

someone who I was able to get permission from for a tour of the Aviation Wing and

only at 3am.

There is one. They charge $500 per landing. I land there regularly.

Interesting. Thanks for the information. All the years I have flown there I never knew about this. So they allow non-emergent private charter pick up and drop off.
