mausermolt
Has anyone had any experience with replacing a door on the R44? I just received a new door for the R44 I fly and when I went to put it on it was nowhere near close to fitting. It was about 1.5" too wide to fit in the frame. And the screws that hold the hinge pins in place were a bugger to get snugged up! does the door have to be fitted my a mechanic?
turbotay
did you order it from the factory?
kodoz
does the door have to be fitted my a mechanic? Yes. I've watched our mech fitting one from the factory, and what you start with isn't even close.
ridethisbike
That just seems.... well... dumb... There's no reason changing a door out should be a PITA...
helipilotm
IIRC when Robinson builds the helicopters they do the whole body then cut out doors and windows. So even in today's world there will be slight differences. Fitting is required, get a mechanic that knows what there doing...
