r22butters Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Sure it looks like fun (beginning about 1:50 in), but I would probably erase the tape afterwards, not post it on youtube!? 2 Quote
Wally Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 There is a whole list of dangerous and STUPID in that one. Publicly posting a video.... I'm not familiar with the area, but why not go a little higher and look around? Is there a route to where you're going that doesn't require you to overfly a cloud deck? If you have to fly that exact leg, why not do it higher (than 4100' over a 3000' mountainous pass) so you can clearly see across the deck. If you had to do so, you could pick and reach a forced landing area. Do not fly up the middle of a valley. You half the space to turn around. Do not approach a ridge or weather on a perpendicular. Approach on as shallow an angle as possible with your turn to abort clear of obstacles. Quote
LJS1993 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Butters if you were in the passenger seat in the back what would you have said to those guys? Would you have screamed and cussed them out? Or would you have hijacked the helicopter at that point? Quote
r22butters Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 Back seat in a 44, hmm., lets see... "Hey guys, do you have any more barf bags up there, I've filled up all the ones back here." Quote
takefootoff Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 Always seems like these r44 videos have a guy wearing really cool gloves while flying close to clouds. Remember a while back 'special vfr' video 1 Quote
