Medallion Foundation ERA, Evergreen, and some Alaska based fixed-wing operators are members. The mission of the Medallion Foundation is to reduce aviation accidents in Alaska by fostering a new safety culture and by promoting higher safety standards through research, education, auditing and advocacy. This program is a test program to eventually be adapted to the lower 48 (US). I've heard mixed opinions from numerous fixed wing and rotor operators: Insurance breaks never came, getting stars is a pain in the rear and time consuming...
