Helicopter Safety Forum 2006

 

FlightSafety is hosting the second annual Helicopter Safety Forum. Safety Insight will be held in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas on May 4 - 5, 2006 at the Marriott DFW South

 

The agenda consisted of round table discussions and safety presentations.

 

Areas of discussion include:

 

Safety Management Systems

 

Transitioning from Military to Civilian Flight

 

Risk Assessment and Management

 

Inadvertent IMC Procedures & Night Operations

 

Controlled Flight into Terrain

 

Automation Management

 

New Technologies (TCAS, TAWS, NVG etc.)

 

FAA Advisories

 

NTSB Recommendations

 

Representatives from AAMS, ALEA, AMSAC, CAMTS, HAI, HSAC, FAA, NBAA, NEMSPA and insurance companies will be available to provide guidance and answer questions in regard to their respective recommendations.

 

More than 300 guests are expected to participate in the forum including management, pilots, dispatchers, medical crew and maintenance from helicopter operations throughout North America. Vertical Magazine, Rotor & Wing , Aviation International News, Business & Commercial Aviation, Professional Pilot and The Fire Journal will provide media coverage of this event.

 

The agenda will be posted shortly. Key industry speakers will present material on Thursday, May 4 from 8:00 - 5:00. Round Table discussions will be held on Friday May 5 from 08:00 - 3:00. Various industry manufacturers will be cosponsoring these events.

 

The 2005 conference demonstrated a proactive approach to airmedical safety as new and innovative safety and training initiatives were discussed. The 2006 forum will expand the discussions to all helicopter operations.
