John90290 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Just wondering what age is the oldest pilot you've met or heard of still working with a valid medical. Thanks, John Quote
West Coaster Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 There's a gent in Ontario flying the air ambulance that's 75! Seen and done it all. Quote
Eric Hunt Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Sad that we have to keep working after 55! The rotary industry has little structure and the pilots rarely can afford superannuation, so they gotta work till they drop. Their plankie mates can retire with a squillion dollars. But helicopter pilots have more fun. Quote
birddog Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 We have a guy in Southwest Ohio at 82 still instructing, by his choice. I think he is a 28 or 29 thousand hour guy. Quote
West Coaster Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Yeah I'm pretty sure money isn't what's making these guys fly. They, like us, love the sky and will be there until they fail their medical most likely. Quote
