helonorth Posted June 21, 2006 Author Posted June 21, 2006 Regarding the replies- what I was actually looking for is some practical information from someone whohas experience dealing with the FAA in this area. A copy of the regs ,I have. Quote

Superman Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Best to contact your local FISDO, they will have a packet with all the info as to what you need to do and in what order. You will be meeting with them a lot over the next year getting the 135 set up so you may as well get used to it. They will probably tell you to contact your insurance company first for a quote, as this usually puts a rapid halt to the entire process. Rule of thumb, take your current rate and times it by 6. good luck Clark Quote

Your best bet is to find someone who has already done a similar 135 app in your area, as they will have done a lot of the hard work. In our case, we adapted an airplane Op Spec and Ops Manual, but it still takes ages. The FARs are indeed your best friend. (And as the Man of Steel pointed out, insurance is very expensive.) Quote
