HH60Pilot Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 It looks like Group 3 had a hard landing at Van Nuys on September 9th. Luckily no one was hurt, but I think the bird is going to be in the hangar for a while. Photos of hard landing. LA Fire Department info on the crash. Doug Quote
67november Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 looks like someone forgot to pull pitch at the bottom of the landing Quote
rotor91 Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 looks like someone forgot to pull pitch at the bottom of the landing GREAT SCHOOL! Peter's a great guy, runs a good program! Just some bad luck, ay! That's at least 4 RW in 6 years, and 1 FW. Quote
Goldy Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Hey taxiway Alpha...thats MY taxiway ! I was up yesterday, took a lil XC over to Camarillo for lunch and I heard about it. I'm just glad to hear everyone is ok...and besides, if you're going to crash...an airport with one of the largest fire department stations in town is not a bad choice !. Goldy Quote
HelliBoy Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Anyone know what happened? Says in the FD report it was during instrument training. Quote
brushfire21 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I couldn't get the pic's to come up, and on the LAFD link the pic was removed. Glad everyone is ok! I know G-3 puts a few students through, and occasionally something is going to happen....... Not if but when... But any crash sucks Quote
