F3Helo
Well, I've started my Helicopter training and have come to realize that the crappy old David Clark Headset the school supplies is not working too well. I am set on buying the Bose, but trying to find a decent deal. Seems most companies are selling it for $995 + tax USD online including the Bose factory website. Does anyone know of a better deal out there? I know Bose was offering a handheld gps as a free gift with purchase, but that seems to be gone now, at least I don't see any mention of that on website anymore. Thank you in advance for any input. flingwing206
I think Bose controls the price at which anyone can sell the X. You can find used ones on eBay, but the best deal is probably to buy them straight from Bose - they offer a 12 months credit, same as cash deal which takes the sting out a bit. BTW, with about 1200 hours using the Bose X, I highly recommend them!
Gomer Pylot
IMO, it's overpriced and underfeatured, like most Bose products. Take a look at Clarity Aloft or Auricomm. They're quieter, more comfortable, and much less expensive.

Autorotator
I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to mention that I purchaced the Bose X today from the Bose website and they do offer 6 month or 12 month payments. I opted for the 12 month and it was a $185 first month down payment and 11 payments of $85. Oh and also, they are giving away a free Garmin Gecko GPS with every purchace if you order by May 12th 2007. I have flown with the Bose headsets a few times and I loved them. They were MUCH more comfy than the DC's.
mechanic
From the letter I recieved in the mail from them, you can trade in your old headset cord and upgrade to the new style. Later
Mixmaster
I thrashed my Bose X in the GOM for a Year and it held up fine. I did manage to break it when it was in my carry on bay flying home and some lady jamed a hard sided case into a overhead that my bag was in. I called Bose and sent it back. They fixed it no charge replaced the ear seals no charge and sent it back. Total time it was away from me six days. By far the most comfortable head set ever. I do have a DC for back up though.Fly SafeBEN
Autorotator
I ordered my Bose X yesterday morning and they arrived at my doorstep at 0900 this morning with my free Garmin Gecko 201 in it. Man those guys don't mess around. That was fast! Best headset I've ever flown with, but it's only the second pair I owned and it was quite an upgrade from my DC's. Bose Rocks. Later!
