TheLorax Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Hello, Today i just received my confirmation letter in the mail from RHC. I live in Houston, TX and will be flying to RHC in California. I scheduled myself for March 24-28, 2008. But, to get a leg up on competition, i also selected the option to be place on their "waiting list" in order to possibly have my course date bumped up sooner. Therein lies my question. In order to get cheaper plane ticket, common sense says "book your flight now to get the cheapest possible rate." ok.. so, if i booked my flight now for March 23rd 2008 and pay for it, what happens if RHC gets in touch with me to tell me that I can go to the earlier course? Do i lose all of my money or can i transfer the flight? ideas? Quote
klas Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 When I change flight times for previously scheduled flights, the airline always charged me a $100 fee. Since most times you can find cheapest when 2 weeks prior to trip, I would wait until two weeks prior to your March flight to purchase, that way you can purchase earlier if you get an earlier trip. BUT, if you do that & you get a call from RHC that says, OK we have an opening this week can you get here in a day or two, your ticket cost will be much higher as it will be close to your travel date. FULL TOUCH DOWN Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I sent the paper work in about three months ago and was given an early 2008 time. After sending it in and signing up for an early time if possible I called because the last weekend in July is my grandparents 60th and I wanted to fly a bird home. With the flight school I am with they want the safety course for insurance reason like most others and it was probably a couple weeks later I received the information that they got me in on the last week of July right before the last weekend. So it is always possible to get bumped up so don’t make permanent plans until u know for sure remember this is aviation things change just like the weather nothing is ever set in stone. Good luck getting bumped up. Quote
