BDean Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 What is a typical number of flight hours one can expect to log in an average 7 or 14 day shift in the GOM with PHI, Air Log, or RHC, etc? I am getting ready to reitre from the Navy and am doing some research. Quote
helonorth Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Hate to be vague, but hours are all over the place. I fly an average of 60 hours in 14 on mycontract. I was on a different contract this summer, and just spoke to my opposite, and heflew 11 hours on his last hitch. 70-80 hours is definitely the high side. I don't knowwhat pool pilots do, as we really don't have any. If you go to PHI, I think most pilots start as a pool pilot. If I had to guess, i'd say 400-600 per year is average. We havepilots on high time contracts that fly 120-130 per month with work-over, though. Quote
Gomer Pylot Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 500 hours/years is probably about average, but it can be a lot higher or lower. There is really no way to give you an accurate figure, because it varies with the job and from time to time. Quote
BDean Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 Thank you for the replies! That's exactly what I was looking for...a ball park number. Like I said, I am just doing some research on what I want to do when I retire from military. I appreciate the information. Brad Quote
