thrilsekr Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I will be in Austin, TX from Sept 29 to Oct 6. I want to put in a couple of hours on any combo of Sept 30, Oct 1 or Oct 5. The in-between days are busy for me, but I may be able to work something out.I have 47.8 hours logged in R22. I am looking to do some emergency procedures, off site landings, pinnacle approaches and general practice for my upcoming checkride. Or if someone would be willing to do a sim-checkride that would be pretty cool. That would be pretty practical as it would be very similar since we have never flown together just like it will be in the actual checkride. Maybe an hour on the 30th, 1st, and then sim on the 5th?I am looking forward to flying in a new airspace, and new conditions. Also, flying with a different CFI will give me another perspective.I would not mind logging a couple hours in a 300 either. Or anything else, for that matter. Alternately, if you could point me in the direction of a good school in Austin... Thanks. Quote

coptermedic Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) I operate out of the Austin area and would be happy to fly with you. I have 2 R22's I use for training and am located at Taylor airport, which is 20 minutes N.E. of downtown Austin. If you want some 300 time, look up Brazo's helicopters up in Bruceville, which is 90 miles North of Austin along IH-35. Take care;Stevehelicoptersofaustin.com Edited September 23, 2009 by coptermedic Quote

thrilsekr Posted September 25, 2009 Author Posted September 25, 2009 Back to the original topic... CopterMedic - Looks like you are the closest person to Austin. Hard to believe there is nothing in Austin. I do not have reliable transportation while in Austin, and was hoping to get something a bit closer. But, I will be in contact soon to see if we can get something setup. PhotoFlyer - I do not have a 300 (or any other heli). Are you in Austin? Robbie CFI rated? Quote

Interest Waning Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Sure is easy for people to get on here and trash other folks. Even ones that never paid a dime to a business. Seems like its a one-way street sometimes with no positives about anyone. I guess everyone on here is a "victim". I think I'll go back over to JH. At least its a two way street on the posts. Quote
