iChris Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) I saw on youtube that a helicopter carries an airplane.is this real or fake ? This is the youtube link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B7yEAFwFZU You have a Mil -26 lifting what looks to be an old Russian Tupolev TU-134 type airliner. The Mil-26 sling load max is around 44,000 pounds. However, the TU-134 airliner's empty weight is around 61,000 pounds. I doubt it could lift it outright; however, if you look closer at the video, both of the TU-134's engines have been removed. In addition, I would guess, other items have been removed to lighten the airliner down to the 44,000 pound range. Technically feasible, I'd take it as real. helonorth Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Looks real enough. If it were fake, it would probably be an Antonov on the end of the line. Quote
SBuzzkill Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 (edited) That's a CRJ, empty operating weight according to bombardier.com is 30,000lbs. That one doesn't have engines, flaps, and I assume it's empty inside and probably stripped of most equipment. No problem for the Mi-26. Edited January 16, 2017 by SBuzzkill Quote
