Zack1965 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if there was a year/ser# that Bell started making all 407 acft with the secondary pedal extensions? Not sure what else to call them...foot pegs are moveable. Or, is that just hit or miss on whether it was ordered with them? Thanks. Quote
iChris Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 (edited) Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if there was a year/ser# that Bell started making all 407 acft with the secondary pedal extensions? Paravion Technology, Inc. made pedal extensions under STC SR00338DE; however, it reads as if you're referring to the Bell Tech Bulletin 407-07-79 in 2007. Read Bulletin below... Bell 407 s/n 53730 and above shipped with them installed. Optional on prior s/n. Edited February 8, 2017 by iChris 1 Quote
helonorth Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 It then looks like they were standard starting in 2006. Quote

Zack1965 Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 Thank you very much Chris for the info! I must say...very relieved to learn this. I am 6'5"...and taking a position that has a 407, and I had no way of seeing the aircraft until after accepting the position.I have sat in others with the pedal extension...and I could manage. Still a bit tight, but far better than without! Thanks again... Quote

SBuzzkill Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 The R22 isn't really a direct comparison to a Bell 407 cockpit. The instrument panels and consoles are quite a bit more confining in the Bell products. There's a lot more junk for your legs knees to hit while trying to get your feet comfortable on the pedals. Understood.... I was more referring to his head scraping on the roof of the cabin... Quote
