slick1537 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Whooooo! Logged my first .7 PIC time. Everything went well, the pickup without the extra weight is a bit odd. I kept moving forward and it took me a minute to straiten it out. My setdown was real sloppy too, helicopter must have looked like a bouncy ball, but all is well. My instructor said it was one of the betters he has seen so I am happy! Quote
Mikemv Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Congrats Slick, I now have almost 23,000 landings in helos and started right where you did. Work hard, fly safe, best to you, Mike Quote
Witch Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) Well done Padewan. Soon master the force you will. Bouncy ball? Wait till you do that bouncy ball thing down the runway. Now that's a ride. Later Edited December 1, 2007 by Witch Quote

I found that a constant descent and additional lowering of the collective when feeling the wind as it tries to lift the helicopter up helped to smooth out my landings. My best solo landing I was trying to lower the collective and realized it was fully down and I didn't even feel the skids touch. The three after that, well...practice, practice, practice.
