propwasher Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Over the past few years there have been many on this Forum who have criticized and attacked fry for his unending attempts to expose SilverState Helicopters. He stood firm in the face of adversity and never waivered in his mission to open the eyes of potential students. He has without a doubt prevented many bankrupcies, divorces, and worse. Today he is vindicated - but with such sadness for so many. I imagine there are many SSH students out there who now realize that he was not just a nay-sayer but actually knew what he was talking about. Today many lives have been turned upside down. Some may eventually recover, some will never recover, and many will never realize their dream of flying. But there are many others who owe fry a debt of gratitude for saving them from the trap. His advice proved to be sound and right on target. Since fry prefers to remain anonymous all I can say is "Who was that Masked Man?"Perhaps when the dust settles he may reveal himself. Sparker Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) Are you asking for theories? All I know is he is very good at math. Maybe he has one of those fancy calculators. He has been the center of a lot of negative attention, but I think the people who stick around long enough find out he means well. I am a little annoyed at the JH regurgitations... He's a good guy. michaelking42 Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 So you say today that fry is vindicated. I must have missed something about SSH...what has happened that vindicated fry (personally I agreed with his posts that I've seen)? Please share the news... Quote

RotorWeed Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Perhaps Fry was a lot closer to this failed company then anyone thought? It seems his truth was right on the money; Now we all have to deal with the fallout. We have all learned a hard lesson watching this saga unfold. RW Quote
FlyNHighNFast Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Maybe Fry was on the inside looking out, doing the right thing, until he could get out. Hey Fry! What the heck are you going to post about now? Your money sucking, arch nemesis, is no more. Quote
Kelly N. Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Today many lives have been turned upside down. Some may eventually recover, some will never recover, and many will never realize their dream of flying. But there are many others who owe fry a debt of gratitude for saving them from the trap. His advice proved to be sound and right on target. I would also add that Fry wasn't the only one (although maybe one of the more visible posters) who was giving potential students good advice re: SSH. Speaking from personal experience, I got some very good and even-handed advice about SSH when I inquired on this forum a few weeks back. That advice was in sync with what I was already starting to discover from web research and helped me feel more confident in my decision to choose a different school. The individual sent the advice as a private message so, I won't indicate who it was publicly, but I wanted to thank them as well (and point out that there were probably many others who gave similar advice to other information seekers behind the scenes). This forum is a great resource in many ways and experienced advice (taken or not and flying-related or not) is just one of the benefits I've gotten from this community in a very short time-period. Thanks (you know who you are),Kelly Quote
joker Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 (edited) Over the past few years there have been many on this Forum who have criticized and attacked fry for his unending attempts to expose SilverState Helicopters. Over the past few years, Fry has matured. As he joined this board originally, he appeared a bitter and twisted individual who had a personal vendetta. His posts carried the air of a crussade, not just to find his own justice, but to seek a morbid revenge...to take down the institution he felt had wronged him at all costs. He snapped at every mention of SSH, personal attacks which were close to overstepping the bounds of what is legal. Some others joined the throng, and for a moment, I (and some others) thought we were going to lose the board! A board who some had worked hard to create a certain ethos and feel. AS TIME WENT BY...he settled down. He stuck to his guns - yes! All credit to him for that. Most impressive was the way he slowly and measuredly withdrew himself from the heaving masses. His posts became more objective; a sign of acceptance of his own fate, and a move to helping others avoid it. The research previously done in anger shone though and, yes, he has undoubtedly been a great help to many. Let's keep thing in perspective though. "Attacked and critised for his unending attempts...etc..etc.." I rather think this is a slightly romantic, but unfair, description of events. What about, "Criticised for his methods in the beginining, which were unending (sometimes nausiatingly so), and on occasions outright dangerous.?" "Who is this masked man...!!!" Come on! Is this really vindication? No doubt there will be some out there who will claim this as 'a victory'. If so, then they prove their lust for revenge. And victory of what sort? The original protesters did not seek a global stuff-up with loans, a downturn in the economy and hundred of innocencts to be screwed in the process...did they? To claim the demise of SSH as a victory would be fraudulent at best! I still have yet to know the results of the court case - although I'm not really that bothered. A sense of relief would be fairer claim to make. So, that's my take... An attempt to bring things back into perspective, albeit my perspective. But one which the orignal poster might not appreciate. I have no quarrel with our friend, Fry. Though, I shall not worship him for a victory which he did not win. I'm happy for him that he can now finally move on - close a chapter....maybe...hopefully others will do likewise and we can all get back to the business of discussing helicopters. The original poster obviously has a different perspective to I. I can't take that away from either of them, nor do I want to. I just point out that there are some who remember the early Fry! It was not all demi-god gold dust that came from his fingers in the beginning. Just to put things in perspective! Joker Edited February 5, 2008 by joker Quote
RotorWeed Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 This is a victory for no one! We all loose because of this. The only person that can claim a victory is Jerry. He has a mountain of cash to start his next business. Water filters to Helicopters to.................. Quote
LFGuard10 Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Fry is the kind of guy every forum needs. If you ask him a question or advice, he doesn't tell you what you want to hear. He answers your question with honesty, whether you want to hear it or not. Quote

RotorWeed Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 would you want to go into a new venture with him? I don't. No, but fools are born every day! I'm sure the people that invested in his water filter business wish they had never given him a cent. This pyramid imploded just like the last one did. Quote
helifool Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 This may not be a victory, but it was a "good" thing for the industry. SSH had been operating on this scam for too long, and was a thorn in the industries side. This thorn had to be removed and we all knew it was coming, better sooner than later. Removing this thorn was and is painful to many, but with time there will be healing, and IMO the industry will be better off without Silverstate Helicopters. Quote
