usmc22mil Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Is it legal to fly a Canadian helicopter with a US pilot certificate for commercial operation of flight training? And where does it say it?I been told it's legal execept for part 141 flight training and part 135 operations. I've looked and looked and can't find anything about it. Thanks for the help Quote
67november Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 YES, you can fly a Canadian registered helicopter, with a US lisence it is up to the Canadian company to check you out for the craft. you'll find the regs on that in the CARS, not the FARS Quote
helonorth Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I don't think it's that simple. You to do written exams and checkrides with the CAA and it ain't nocakewalk. Quote
67november Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 you're correct, I was just stating the basics of the answer. Quote

67november Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) § 61.3 Requirement for certificates, ratings, and authorizations. ( B ) Required pilot certificate for operating a foreign-registered aircraft. A person may not act as pilot in command or in any other capacity as a required pilot flight crewmember of a civil aircraft of foreign registry within the United States, unless that person's pilot certificate: (1) Is valid and in that person's physical possession, or readily accessible in the aircraft when exercising the privileges of that pilot certificate; and (2) Has been issued under this part, or has been issued or validated by the country in which the aircraft is registered. you already have to be a certified pilot to fly foreign registered aircraft.
