Good Evening everybody,

Sorry if this is in another topic but I have just been a little frustrated in trying to schedule a flight physical. I'm currently a E5 in the Air National Guard (traditional Guardsman) and have been tossed around in trying to see a flight surgeon.

I have called Fort Rucker, Fort Benning and Fort Stewart and they all said they could not see me due to me not being active duty. Fort Stewart did somehow schedule me to take my flight physical in Tuttle Army Health Clinic however it ended up they don't even have flight surgeons and I needed a memorandum from my recruiter and active duty orders to schedule one.

So I'm left clueless in how to get one done. I have told my recruiter but I don't see him scheduling one for me because that is technically not his job.

As anybody had issues that's not active (but also "prior") scheduling a flight physical? And if you did can you please help me out on how to do so?

Thanks!

My recruiter did schedule mine. I was Marine Corps reserve at the time. Not sure what his process is was. But, being on orders should not matter. I ended up going to Fort Eustis. Also, the Navy and Marine Corps uses the same system as the Army to track flight physicals (Aero). So that may open up some possibilities for you.

I ran into a couple road blocks trying to schedule mine as well. Kept getting told I needed to schedule it through the Navy. My solution was to not schedule it. Most clinics should have a walk-in day. Ft. Hood wouldnt give me the time of day over the phone so I drove up and was just gonna try and speak to someone a little higher than the person answering the phone about an appointment. Turns out it was walk in day, so I just told em I was there for my 1A physical to see what would happen. They didnt even bat an eye and acted like they saw people like that all the time. After that first person at the desk gives you a clipboard and starts you on the process no one cared. I was a Navy reservist at the time. As long as you got a valid CAC its worth a shot.

I am applying as a sister service (Coast Guard) applicant as well. I used my service's physician to complete the physical and he submitted it to Aero Medical. And it was a quick turn around; it was approved in about a week.

Have you looked at using your service's medical? They give a few options for flight physicals under the non-army personell section of the Applicant Info tab on the warrant recruiting website.

Here's a link. Maybe you've already seen this?

Doesn't solve your problem of course, but there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get a physical. Good luck.

I wish mine did, but he has stated multiple times that was not really his job. I will try and see if perhaps I can get another branch to help me out.

Those are one of my options I was planning on doing. I live in Orlando, Florida so its definitely a drive, but if no one gives me the time of day I have to make it happen somehow

I will definitely be calling Mr. Garcia to see what my options are. Funny I called that section multiple times and nobody forwarded me to him. Thanks!
