PTKodiak
Just read about it on our local new station: http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/video/vide...ash_kills_pilot R.I.P. That is the second crash in a months time in Arizona. The first one claimed the lives of two Peoria Police Officers that were flying a home built helicopter on their day off. Think it was a Safari? If I remember correctly. Sad sad news.

If I remember correctly. Sad sad news. Yeah, I heard about the Safari going down. While its an experimental I had always heard pretty good things about the ship. Prob someone on the site that has flown one? We all need to fly a bit higher to add that margin of safety.
RockyMountainPilot
R.I.P. Powerlines in mountains can even be more of a threat because they might extend from peak to peak and be much higher above the ground then just the height of the towers. Actually there were four in a months time if you count non-fatals, there was another Non-fatal R-44 wirestrike about a month ago in AZ and a batched auto OH-6A rollover on 6/4.
