AgustaGrand Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Hello, I want to know what is the record for most number of flying hours for a helicopter pilot... Thanks in advance, Quentin France Quote
Linc Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I don't know if it is a "record", but Robert Burns was recognized in 1999 for 30,000 hours flying Bell products without an accident. http://www.bellhelicopter.com/en/support/f.../pdf/awards.pdf Quote

West Coaster Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 About 5 years ago Vancouver Island Helicopter held a small celebration for a logging pilot of their with over 30,000 hours in helicopters. Can't remember his name though, just remember my jaw hitting the floor reading about it Quote
Falko Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 30,000 hours in helicopters There is a Designated Pilot Examiner named Dale M. I took my rides with him in 2006. He started flying in Nam (Hueys), after Nam he stayed in the army. I don't know when he retired but the last thing he did was instruction in the CH47. He told me that he quit logging flight time around 1996. At that point he had around 40.000+hrs.I know that includes some fixwing but he mainly flew helicopters. He also told me that he had 7 engine failures (single engine helicopters) but managed to walk away. Falko Quote

IFLY Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 I read about a lady that has over 57,000 hours and is the highest time pilot in the world. Its fixed wing but at least we know the top. Jerry Quote
justfly Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I read about a lady that has over 57,000 hours and is the highest time pilot in the world. Its fixed wing but at least we know the top.Evelyn Bryan Johnson, 57,635.4 hours! One of the first female helicopter pilots, Whirly-Girl #20 ...and she has a little time under the rotors of a flailing, burning helicopter too, saving the pilot, for which she was awarded the Carnegie Medal. links:http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-1...cordpilot_N.htm http://www.aopa.org/asf/publications/inst_...fm?article=8515 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evelyn_Johnson Quote
Niteshade Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 The pilot with the most flying hours is American John Edward Long. From May 1933 to April 1977 he flew 62 654 hours, achieving a total of more than 7 years airborne. Albeit not rotary, but an impressive number regardless of how you're staying aloft. Jim Borger Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I have 37,500 hours accident free logged in helicopter. I also have additional time in fixed wings. Quote
Luis Cendejas Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I got 16000 hours. But my opinion it’s the number of landings in that time. Like I said “it’s my opinion”. I did 12 : 37 hours in a single day with 140 landings. Offshore Thank you. Quote
