teddy Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 am I the only one who thinks this is funny? Quote
Eric Hunt Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 What a waste of bandwidth. "increase wind resistance"??? If the pilot gets "knocked out" you will barely have time to kiss your nether regions goodbye. 1 Quote
Snowman Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Wish we knew who this guy was, we could all take turns "knocking him out". Quote
HELICOLT Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 ahah Don't know about you guys but after that i think i know all i need to, to fly a heli... lol your gona have people knocking out pilots just to get their 5 secs of "short lived" fame... Quote
thrilsekr Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 The first time I went skydiving the guy I was tandem with showed me how to pull the ripcord and backup chute just in case something happened. He could have called them "anvils" for all I cared. Sure, not quite the same scenario. But would at least give me a fighting chance. I ain't going down without trying something.Maybe his explanation wasn't in industry terms, but it would make enough sense to someone on a tour who may or may not even speak english. You and I know you are SOL in that scenario, so what difference does it make? Inferno Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 Well, I just found a way to save myself teaching numerous hours of ground. I'll just show my students this video for their flight controls, aerodynamics and EP lessons.... Thanks OP! Quote
heli.pilot Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 At least for the final seconds of their life they'll have the thrill of flying a helicopter... flying it right into the ground that is... I remember this one time, I tried to speed up my tail rotor... Quote
Eggbeater Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 That's either a very well made troll or this guy has no idea what he is talking about. My vote is for the latter. Quote
csw1000 Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 He seems to have forgotten the part about dragging him out of the PIC seat since there don't seem to be dual controls. Not sure how that would work out, but it seems necessary if you are going to reach the pedals. If you are going to fly straight into the ground you might as well be flying the whole thing. Quote
zippiesdrainage Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Perhaps this guy has discovered a new untapped region of the helicopter tour industry. You pay your money, you go up for a tour and the pilot gets "knocked out" and you get the thrill of landing the helicopter with only the help of tower. And that's not all, if you call in the next 30 minutes you get for only an extra $500 a second person on board who will act like a crazed passenger who knocks out the pilot whom you get to "subdue" in order to impress your date before you land the ship with your minute long youtube video experience.
