Tenacious T Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Who is offering vertical reference training in the southeastern US? Also wondering if people interested in VR would prefer to do it in a piston to keep costs down or do it in a turbine. Quote
Tenacious T Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 Anyone? I'm hoping to get our company approved for part 133 and also put together a vertical reference course in an OH-6A. Quote
Trans Lift Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Bristow do it in a 300. It is a 19 hour course but they are not 133 certified. It is just a simple external load course. I would prefer to do it in a piston to keep costs down. We use a 44 up here in MA for lift work, performs fantastically. Quote
rick1128 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 A VR course in a piston helicopter is a good idea. Not so much to keep the cost down, but in a H300 or some other helicopter where you have to work the throttle. Since they have less poswer, you are working more toward the edge. In the real VR world, especially some of the utility jobs out there, you will be working right at the max limits of the helicopter. So if you have never been there, it could be an interesting learning experience. Quote
Tenacious T Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Outside of training, does anyone know of companies doing 133 operations in the southeast? Quote
