aeroscout Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 As a 200 hour CFII who has yet to instruct a student, I just want to thank everyone in this discussion for making me take a much closer look at a topic I thought I thoroughly understood.I sure hope no one wants you to know the subject as well as Ray Prouty does. He used to write for Aviation Leak and Space Technology. That was the Cold War nickname for the magazine. I liked reading his articles, but I never saw myself being able to author such topics. Solidity ratios was one of my favorite articles he wrote. iChris has come as close as anyone I know to equalling the understanding level of Ray. I also used to read Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators. I just didn't understand much of it so I really didn't enjoy it much.RoteUnderstandingApplicationCorrelationI don't always agree with the FOI, but in most cases a rote understanding of oral topics will be an acceptable minimum across the board.
