Chris P
I went to get a Flight Physical Test and I had to stop on optometry because they told me that with my vision I can’t do anything, however since it’s 20/20 corrected, I can get eye surgery through the Army and continue with my warrant packet. I completed the packet to get eye surgery, but they told me it can take up to a year to get through the whole process and go back to do my flight physical. Now I’m wondering if instead of just getting eye surgery through the army I can go to the civilian side, pay out of pocket and get this code ver with quickly than having to wait up to a year? I just can’t wait any longer and I don’t want to have to extend my contract for another year as enlisted.
Thedude
The medical requirements after surgery are the same whether it is done by civilians or army.
It_is_Monday
Like stated above you will still need to wait 6 months recovery time post op. You may begin your part 1 flight physical at 3 months, however cannot complete part 2 until 6 months has passed.
