FlyNHighNFast Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Well here I am, 6 months and 55.3 hours later, with the highly coveted (by me) Helicopter Private Pilot Certificate. My heartfelt thanks go out to all you great folks out there, that provided useful advice along the way. I will be starting on my commercial in January, then on to the CFI. Huge Kudos to my instructor, Craig Piowaty of NC Rotor and Wing. If I did not do a maneuver right, I got to do it over and over until it was perfect. Quote
ironranger Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Congratulations on getting your license. Its a great feeling and quite a sense of accomplishment. Good luck with the rest of your training. Fly safe ironranger Quote

Guest rotorflyr84 Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Thats great news to hear. Congrats on your accomplishment! As we are both students at NC Rotor and Wing, I agree, it is a great school to be training at. Keep it up, and best of luck on the other ratings to come! Quote

FlyNHighNFast Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 Who was your DPE BTW? RW Greg Hudson was the DPE. Great pilot, great teacher, I learned quite a few things in the time we spent on the ground and even more about the capabilities of the R-22 in the air. Quote
FlyNHighNFast Posted December 23, 2007 Author Posted December 23, 2007 What, no Instrument rating??? But of course... I plan on doing instrument training on the fixed wing side, it will be cheaper and I will get to log real IMC time, which is not possible in the R-22 or R-44. It will be easy to add on the rotorcraft instrument once I'm done with that. Quote
