montyC
Hey guys. I was wondering if it would be a worthwhile investment to buy a house at our first duty station. Are we stationed in one place for long? How often do we move? I'd appreciate any distinctions made between rotary wing and fixed-wing aviators as well as the different airframes. Some places it will be worth it, others it wont. I can say that at Drum I wouldnt buy here because of NYS prices and taxes. If I was somewhere big like Bragg or Hood it might be worth it.
Shadowlurker
Fort Carson was also a good place to buy. It may be too high now to purchase and make equity, compared to 2014-2016, but the location is fantastic.
