tattooed Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I am trying to research services that provide online student/CFI scheduling for aircraft. We have enough going on now that it would be nice to just be able to go online, find a time slot, and call my students, vs phone tag with other CFIs/boss. I have used Schedulepoint, and it works fine. Anyone know if any other provider? Thanks!!! Quote
PhotoFlyer Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 The school I worked at used flight schedule pro. Did everything we needed. We used it like an offline paper schedule (students couldn't make changes, only see their schedule) so that our CFIs had complete control of their own schedule. I understand, however, that you can set it up to allow students to book flights on their own. Also, I think if you want to spend the money they can integrate the scheduling with your existing website. http://www.flightschedulepro.com Quote
ADRidge Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 SkyScheduler was nice. I went to another school that used Total FBO. Handy for them, but as a student I couldn't get online to check the schedule, which was a pain. Quote
tattooed Posted October 15, 2009 Author Posted October 15, 2009 thanks! This is exactly the type of information I am looking for. I checked out Flightschedulepro's webpage, very easy to use. Anyone else have any recommendations? Comments? Quote
PlatoNC Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Though my only experience has been with flight schedule pro, it has been great. You can set each ship and cfi with their own preferences, whether it be read-only student access, or when a time is reserved it can txt/email the cfi the details automatically, otherwise the layout is pretty easy to read and make sense of. I'd find schools using different online schedulers and give them a call, it shouldn't be too much trouble for them to give you student-level access to check it out, though to reduce your chances of being labeled a corporate spy I wouldn't call anyone too local Quote
RkyMtnHI Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 We use flight schedule pro. It is amazing, we learn more about it every day and love it. We use it for all our scheduling, even our mx stuff. You can add a column for any mx issue you want on any helo, or other equipment, and it will alert you of the issue (50 hr, 100 hr, grease tail rotor, check skidpads, etc). It is so nice to know where each helo is at every flight. When our pilots check out an ac it keeps track of the hobbs and all other issues and they print this out for our records. No more addition mistakes that find you a month later when you least expect it. we also have places for fuel added and oil.. this gives us a check and balance at the end of the month to compare to our quick books reports, saves a ton of time and keeps our op complete transparent. The scheduling part is also as private as you want it, so others cannot see what you are doing unless you add them as a user. One of my favorite parts which is a huge safety issue at other schools i know of, is that it also tracks pilot medicals and currency. When the pilot hands you the sheet to check out the ac it prints out all of their times and info.. there is no question to wether they are current or qualified to fly the ac. It also time tracks their solo insurance and literally any thing you want it to. it costs about $50 a month.. can't beat it. dp Quote
JumpPilot Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Found another one for you - myfbo.com The local FW school has been using it for years and it seems to have as much or as little as you want to buy...pretty easy to schedule as far as the student goes, but I couldn't tell you about the admin side of things. RkyMtnHI Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Flight schedule pro also sends out an email to the student when the flight has been scheduled, AND can send a reminder the day before.. here is the latest example from our schedule: A reservation has been created. Here are the details: Pilot: D PFor: Aircraft: Robinson R44 Clipper 2 N921JMInstructor: SOLOStart Time: 10/17/2009 11:00 AMEnd Time: 10/17/2009 1:00 PMComments: Created By: G KReservation Id: 3720405 can't beat it.... Goldy Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 can't beat it.... Yepp, I love FSP. However, there were many times I had an opportunity come up, where I wanted to fly. But if you can't see the schedule, or book a flight, you can't get a hold of anyone at the School....then they lose out, they lose a flight. So my recommendation is use FSP. Once someone is checked out in a ship, give them permission to see and book their solo flights. There were plenty of weekends I was willing to spend money, but couldnt get ahold of anyone to check the schedule. So, I didnt fly, and the school lost revenue. Goldy Quote

Goldy Hey bud!! it depends on how the school sets up the user, you may or may not have access to, or be able to see the whole schedule. you can also give them the permission to book on line. if i had an instructor that no one could get in touch with they would quickly be working for someone else.. Goldy, if you were close you would have a key to my shop! :-) dp dp Quote
tattooed Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks everyone! Exactly what I needed.I pitched FSP to my colleges yesterday. We'll prob end up using it soon. Sounds like exactly what we need. Quote
IFLY Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Aircraftclubs.com we use at work and schedule-now at the gliding club. Jerry Quote
HeloJunkie Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 You might want to look at ScheduleMaster (http://www.schedulemaster.com/). I know many of the flight clubs here in San Diego use that as well as Civic Helicopters in Carlsbad. Quote
brettjeepski Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 My flight school has had success with Flight Schedule Pro. Me as a student find it very easy to see the open spots and receive communication that they send us on news worthy event. Quote
