Come on man. You've never speculated or put out information that wasn't completely true? It's the internet. It happens.

Yes, it does appear that women have been allowed to serve in 160th for about a year now. Haven't heard of any getting accepted yet. I would think that would be big news.

No news is good news in the special operations community. Generally the less the public knows the better. That's how it's always been, and how it needs to remain.

Yeah but we're not talking about covert ops. Having women serving in special ops roles is hardly something that needs to be kept secret. Plus, everyone these days has a cell phone and a camera. 160th doesn't have special aircraft that can evade the eyes of the common citizen. There's very little that they do that can be kept from the public.

It's not being kept secret. It's just not news-worthy. There are a lot of things that shouldn't be in the news. This is one of them IMO.

The only reason it's even an issue is because apparently the Military needs to have equal rights for everyone, and now it's a damn publicity stunt. Some commander gets to go "Hey, I put X amount of women through "insert military course here". That's all it is. It's a freaking joke.

I agree, but when it comes to women breaking into traditional roles filled by men, it's always going to be newsworthy. When I was in the Marines they made a big deal about the first female Marine Aviator. When the Thunderbirds had their first female pilot it made news. Just read about the first female AF HH-60 pilot in the news the other day. People like "firsts."

Or the first female pilot to circumnavigate the world, Emelia Earhart. Wait...
