WOFT applicant Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 According to AR 601-210 from last year, persons with no prior service are authorized to apply for Enlistment Program 9J, which is WOFT in the US Army Reserve. See Page 107: http://www.apd.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/r601-210_Web_FINAL.pdf Has anyone gone through this? Is it still an option? Thanks. Quote
Dmurray Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 IIRC, As a WO1 you are appointed to the Army Reserve until you are commisioned as CW2 Quote
WOFT applicant Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 IIRC, As a WO1 you are appointed to the Army Reserve until you are commisioned as CW2 Right, but this is a separate enlistment program from 9D, which is "active duty" WOFT resulting in a 6-year full-time commitment. It appears that 9J refers to a WOFT program leading to part-time service in the Army Reserve. I didn't know that such a program, available to those with no prior service, existed. 1 Quote
mike0331 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Have you looked at Guard at all? Thus far it has been my experience that even if the unit doesn't openly advertise a "street to seat" program, they may still offer one if in need of pilots. Mike Quote
WOFT applicant Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 mike0331, Just FYI, I sent you a private message regarding the guard. Any information would be appreciated! Thanks. Quote
