GM1 Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 If I have an active security clearance from the Navy will I have to redo the clearance process? Or will they just transfer my current one over since it is technically still DOD? Just wondering because I’ve lived at so many places in the past ten years and it would be so much fun to redo all of that... I’ve been accepted into the PA guard and was wondering what the process would be. Quote
KennyO Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 Your initial expires in 10 years, but I am not 100% it will transfer. Like you said, dont know why not. I can confirm that your clearance renewal around the 10 year mark is a nightmare to fill out. Have all foreign locations and dates, residences and people you knew at each one, etc. I started early and still had trouble. Depending where you are in the pipeline, you could always just talk with your S2. 1 Quote
jkray Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 If you are current, it should transfer no problem. Mine transferred from the USMC to the Army. It may be a good idea to get a letter of determination from your S2 showing it’s valid and when it expires just as a back up though 1 Quote
GM1 Posted February 20, 2020 Author Report Posted February 20, 2020 I am current still have two years left on it actually. I do have my letter of determination from the security manager as well. It was honestly just a thought that popped into my head. Thanks guys look forward to flying with you! Quote
