zaurus
Need some CWO advice for the New Year. No recruiter will know the answer. Two points 1) Must have 10yr Active Federal Service (AFS) in retiring as a Commissioned Officer unless waived by the Secretary of the Army. Must be a CW2 in holding a Commission. W1 are issued Warrants not Commissions. 2) Maximum of 8 years AFS by WOFT applicants. Waivers can be approved. If enlisted members apply to the WOFT program at the 8yr point, will they retire as a W1 or CW3 at 20yrs? They won't be promoted to the commission ranks until serving at least 11.5-12yrs. By the way, enjoy the New Year.
Thedude
I know guys who switched over at 12 years and retired with W2 and W3 pay and those ranks on their retired ID cards. I don’t know the specifics on how it works related to that section of code.
