K-38
I would recomend Helistream. They operate out of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, CA. They offer instruction in the R-22, and R-44. Very professional orginization.

helonorth
I'm sure the the military does a fine job training pilots. Heck, I work with a guy who was a civilianIP at Ft. Rucker for 11 years and he's forgotten more than I know about helicopters. The only problemis, they want the next 6 years of your life. Plus, there's that thing going on in the middle east. Ifyou're willing to move to train, go to Bristow or Thomlinson or someplace established. I've heard andtalked to too many people who have gotten a bad deal or even ripped off. SSH may be able to dowhat they say they will, but you're taking a huge risk. Good luck and avoid the Robbies until youget more time. Oh... there is no best school.
