klas
It certainly had a distinct sound! Not too long ago, also saw a Blackhawk flying in the daytime along our lakefront... that was pretty cool, too. And we regularly have Coast Guard helo's flying between buildings up here, along the river. But they never wave back....

permison
My office is at the Watergate and we have all sorts of helo traffic. It seems like they pass by every 5 minutes. It's better then Rucker at 4pm. Occasionally the Puzzle palace or Arlington has a fly over for a funeral or something and I can watch from the roof of the building. It's pretty neat to watch helicopters flying below you as they zip up helicopter route one.Jack
Guest rotorflyr84
A couple months ago, we had blackhawks, apaches, and some F-22's going over our house. I got some great pics. There were also F/A-18 Super Hornets as well, but those came into KCLT where I work. I got to fuel them, help the pilots out with stairs, and everything. It was awesome. Here's some pics to share with you all. Pics were taken with the Olympus SLR E-500 which I mentioned in the digital camera thread. Enjoy! (That's me bringing the FA-18 Super Hornet on the ramp) I apologize for the many pics...I have so many, but I'll save them for a later date. Hope you liked them! Witch
Sherman, set the wayback to the summer of 1984, Utah desert near Tooele, about 11:00 PM. Camping on a ridge with three others, we hear blade slap on the desert floor. We run to the edge of the hill and hear-but not see-helicopters below us flying by the ridge. No lights whatsoever. It was creepy, yet exhilarating. Later
Linc
Some of us live it everyday. It can really get boring. The seeing and hearing, that is. Flying? That can never get boring! Now, what you're doing while flying...that's another story.
