Goldy
Schack, no such luck. I know of 3 leasing companies, and another very personally! All are based on hours used, most have minimums, and as the leasee you are responsible for a long list of things..fuel, inspections, maintenance, insurance, etc. Goldy Here's 3 http://www.helilease.com/ http://www.HeloLeasing.com http://www.robinsonleasing.com/

SunHelo Paul
As someone actively involved in arranging helicopter purchases and leases, I can tell you that your monthly payments will be roughly the same on the same helicopter whether you are buying or leasing it. In either case the insurance, maintenance and operating costs will be your responsibility. The advantage to leasing is the ability to hand in the keys at the end of the term and walk away from the helicopter (and the money you've put into it) The advantage to purchasing is the chance, with the right helicopter in the right market, to recover most of your investment when you sell. I think he was looking for a comparison cost between leasing and paying by the hour for training time for the helicopter.

permison
Mind if I throw a related question into the fray? I am looking at purchasing an aircraft as part of a club. Will a lease allow for multiple pilots (6)?
Autorotator
I don't see where it would be a problem as long as the pilots are certified in that aircraft and meet insurance mins. Our first helicopter at Arkansas Helicopters was leased, anyone who was licensed to fly it could after I checked them out in it, or signed them off to solo in it. Will a lease allow for multiple pilots (6)? Yepp, I second Autorotator's opinion. As long as you have insurance, and follow the rules of that insurance company you can do whatever you want with the aircraft. The 6 of you should form a corporation or LLC and then that entity can lease the ship. We would require a couple of you co-sign personally for the lease payment, but a club is no problem Goldy
