Goldy
So, its time to be thinking of some of our favorite helicopter shows. I thought I would list the ones I know of which feature mostly..or all...helicopters. Starting next month, June 19th in San Carlos, CA., the Vertical Challenge show is always a winner. I try to fly up to San Jose, take the train North to San Carlos, the airport is a 15 minute walk from the train station. Or of course, just fly in and land! http://www.hiller.org/vertical-challenge.shtml Then Jim Paules event, the American Heroes Airshow in Los Angeles, Ca on July 24th. (yours truly tries to never miss this one). http://www.heroes-airshow.com/losangeles/ Then we head out to PA to check out Rotorfest, held Sept 25th/26th. http://www.helicoptermuseum.org/RotorFest/RotorFestInformation/tabid/963/Default.aspx What did I miss? Fly safe, have fun Goldy
Lindsey
1) If I'm not mistaken, the American Heroes Airshow is also at Boeing Field in Seattle on June 19th.http://www.heroes-airshow.com/seattle/2010/2010%20WA%20Flyer.pdf 2) There is also the Olympic Airshow in Olympia, Washington on June 19th and 20th, featuring a couple Hueys, an AH-1 Cobra, and an OH-6 Cayuse. Here's the link: http://www.olympicflightmuseum.com/airshow.php 3) McChord AFB just south of Tacoma, WA is having an Air Expo (finally! it's been cancelled the last few years because of the war). Not sure about the prevalence of helos, but when I last went, it was pretty spectacular. Did I mention that it's free?http://www.jblmmwr.com/airexpo/

helistar
I had the opportunity many years ago to fly with Roger Buis, pilot of Otto the helicopter. Great guy and awesome pilot who's more than happy to show you what he can do in a helicopter. His show is something you don't want to miss and if you didn't know he also has a dvd available at online aircraft spruce... X-filer
Why? Why the most interesting shows are going to happen on June 19-20th? Please explain to me how should I split myself to Visit LA for helicopter show and NYC for Red Bull Air Race the same days? )) Especially when I know personally a guy who works with one of the teams and said he'd be able to let me in to the pilots zone and watch the performance from the actual hot spot. Tim99
Can we get the pilot to wear a rotor- beanie hat? Wings were meant to be turning!I don't think I would want to ask a Marine fighter pilot to wear it. But you could try.BTW.........MV-22 Osprey on display. Flying in late Friday and leaving Sunday. No demo. The AH-1s and UH-1s are going to depart for a training mission during the day sometime. Tim McIntosh
