swisster Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Sounds like a possible wire strike.http://www.cnn.com/2012/11/04/us/atlanta-police-chopper-crash/index.html?hpt=hp_t4 Quote
Dnr032 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Another witness said the aircraft lost power then hit the wires on the way down. Never trust the first reports or the first witness. Let us wait for the official report before passing judgement. The idiots on JH are already citing the pilot for flying too low. Sad. Either way, two police officers are dead. RIP Quote
DS_HMMR Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Bummer Bummer Bummer. Hate hearing about these types of events. And as far as the JH "types". Who gives a flying_fxck what some internet tool has to "offer up" as their armchair synopsis of what happened? NOBODY, that's Who. 1 Quote
nightsta1ker Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Whatever happened, they went out looking for a missing little boy. What a way to go. Heroes in my book, even if the cause of the accident turns out to be pilot induced. Edited November 4, 2012 by nightsta1ker Quote
Gunner Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I spent a while talking to Richard at ALEA this year. Super nice guy. Very sorry to hear about this. Quote

Goldy Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Very Sad, very experienced pilot from what I was told....I doubt any witness on the ground would be able to ascertain the sound change if a turbine stopped....they still hear the rotors spinning. Prayers to the families.. Quote
