Lindsey Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I would be terrified to put a former 105 driver in a Robinson. That pushover at 2:09...gulp. 1 Quote
DS_HMMR Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 It takes a little getting used to, I'd imagine. Quote
Wally Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 I think some of those are PAH-1 variety of the 105. Made by the Germans to kill tanks, a serious business when you're considering the prey would be Eastern Bloc and come by the hundreds... If you don't have laser target designators, much less fire and forget or all weather capability, NOE is a good thing.105s ride like a tank... Quote

Nomad110 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Watching some of those maneuvers makes you think they are capable of negative pitch angle like an RC helicopter. Just insane. Quote
aeroscout Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Unless I am sorely mistaken, that is the same model of helicopter that does all the red bull air shows. Please don't let me be sorely mistaken ! 1 Quote

It seems that Chuck is the only licensed aerobatic helicopter pilot in the United States. Also the announcer at the air show I saw him at said that they adjusted the weight and balance/CG so he can do more aerobatics. 1 Quote

THE_COYOTE Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 If I remember correctly there is a warning in the flight manual about right turns at slow speeds. Well built aircraft though, very solid. 1 Quote
