I will admit it is a bit of a distraction to say the least but first and foremost you have still got to FLY THE AIRCRAFT!!! Then set it down and close the door! Goldy Posted May 6, 2013 Report Share Posted May 6, 2013 (edited) Doesn't look like it ends pretty. I pop the door open every day on approach to the cart so I can see the damn thing under me. Can't imagine that was the only distraction. (added later) After reading the ATSB report it appears the door started the chain, the attempt to switch hands and fly the cyclic with the left hand caused a tail strike and it went downhill from there resulting in two deaths.
