Falko Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) @ ALL I did not want to attack anybody who wears a flight suit .. and if someone feels like that !!!!!!!!!! IAM SORRY !!!!!!!!!!!! I DO NOT SAY, that every CFI or PILOT who wears a flight suit is arrogant....thats not the case. There are TONS OF GOOD CFIs out there !!!! Its just that I saw quite a bit people who turned arrogant, once they got hired as a CFI. THE FLIGHT SUIT itself has nothing to do with that. I just used it because I think it playes / played a factor in some cases that Have a nice weekend guys !!! Besides, I also wear a flight suit Falko Edited December 1, 2007 by Falko Quote
southernweyr Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I believe the issue is, why are you wearing a flight suit? Most people agree that wearing a flight suit is uncomfortable. So, are you wearing the flight suit because of safety reasons (required or not) or because you want to look cool? Quote
Dustin Finan Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 RHC did indeed issue a safety notice (but not limited to CFIs) advising wearing Nomex suits, which I believe was in response to a post crash fire where the pilot got burn't. My previous flying job had me wearing a flight suit for 14 hr days 6 days a week, in the summer no one would know if I was arrogant or not by the end of the week as the suit stank so bad no-one would come near! I reciently bought a flight suit because of the fire possibility. If you dont believe its real, I will send you some pics that were less than a month ago in a R44. Cabin is a melted ash pile. 1 person out of 3 could have survived with a suit. Keep it in the Green. DF Quote

DF NOBODY says it isn't real. They must really know how to make flight suits if the cabin is reduced to ash, yet someone can survive wearing flame resistant cloth. You'll need a helmet, too, for bluntforce trauma. I'll pass on the pictures. Quote
Chopper54 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I don't think the flight suit has some magical power that makes you arrogant when you put it on. Arrogant people are arrogant before the suit. The suit doesn't make the man/woman... Quote
flying high Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 (edited) The funny part about this topic is that the one who started it is a CFI and a good guy Im sure hes just getting out a little frusration . Good luck Falko Edited December 7, 2007 by flying high Quote

mtbman07 Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 The way I see it, whether it's due to arrogance or safety reasons, I think that anyone wearing a flight suit can only be a good thing in the end, even if it does only improve your chances of survival by a minimal percentage. Besides how often does being cocky actually encourage people to wear safety equipment? If that was always the case it would be too bad there weren’t more cocky motorcyclists out there lol. Quote
Sparker Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 If that was always the case it would be too bad there weren’t more cocky motorcyclists out there lol. What if you wear a flight suit on the way to the airport while you are riding a motorcycle? That would be the ultimate in cockiness! As soon as I get my flight suit, that is totally what I am going to do! Unless, of course, I buy the $440 Top Gun jacket Tom cruise wore on his Ninja.... Quote
Witch Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 What if you wear a flight suit on the way to the airport while you are riding a motorcycle? That would be the ultimate in cockiness! Dude, I ride my motorcycle-a KLR-to the airport, and on several occasions I have worn my flightsuit. I AM THE COCKINESS MASTER !!!Best of all, if my bike catches fire, I'm protected. Really, I wear chaps and an armoured jacket. I had armoured pants, but the side zipper broke and I'm too lazy-and cheap-to get another I like. Oh wait! The kicker check! Later Quote

Make sure you wear your flight suit over your motorcycle clothing, that way people will know that you are protected if you crash your motorcycle due to a helicopter fire. Wear the motorcycle helmet though. ATC probably won't want to hear from you if you're just riding your bike. Quote

Worldcrime Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Try to seperate the arrogance from the flight suit. Arrogance is both irratating and dangerous. A flight suit never hurt anybody, unless you are too fat, then you look like an overstuffed sausage. Richard http://heli-safety.comhttp://heli-wear.com Quote
