eagle5 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I guy I flew with once told me to go to a particular operator (who wasn't hiring at the time) hand them my resume, and drop his name. So how exactly do you go about doing something like that? I can see dropping someones name if I'm already in an interview, but going in cold turkey and uninvited? Any experiences with this? Quote
Flying Pig Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I got a side job like that once. I called the guy up and said "Bill told me you might be looking for someone and told me to call and see what you have going on." 1 Quote
eagle5 Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 Funny, I never thought to call instead! That might work better? Quote
SBuzzkill Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 "Hey, Jake Hoss told me to stop by and drop off my resume." Quote
ridethisbike Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Funny, I never thought to call instead! That might work better? If it's feasible to show up in person, I would do that. If not, there's nothing wrong with a phone call. 1 Quote
adam32 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 "Hey! I'm the best pilot in the world, Billy Badass told me you'd hire me on the spot, no questions asked! So point me towards the ship and give me a lat/long!" I probably wouldn't recommended that, but ya never know...lol 1 Quote
