N67RA Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Ok, then I retract the civilian part. However, you are a WOFT selectee. Just enjoy the ride of flight training. I think you may be pleasantly surprised. You're %100 right! Quote
Spike Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 And that's exactly how it should be...People are forgetting how to hand fly an aircraft too by constantly using the autopilot. I plan on doing a 600nm flight with another pilot and I hope I can convince him to not touch that GPS until we get within the mode C veil of our destination. It'll be VFR of course. Sure, but, I flew a machine from CA to TX and it was on the pink-line from fuel stop to fuel stop…. The message is; it shouldn’t be the limit to your navigation skills…… Quote

Azhigher Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 If the GPS goes out you just pull out the Ipad, right? (Right!?) Quote
Flying Pig Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 If the GPS goes out you just pull out the Ipad, right? (Right!?) No, just cycle the avionics Master on and off. Quote
adam32 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Or use the backup GPS, or the handheld GPS in your pocket Quote
Pohi Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 If the GPS goes out you just pull out the Ipad, right? (Right!?)Might be safer to just blow the fire bottles and auto. 2 Quote
Dnr032 Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Might be safer to just blow the fire bottles and auto.Immediately squalk 7700, delare an emergency and request vectors from ATC to the nearest airport and/or VFR conditions! Quote
