Joe_P148 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Why would anyone want to know the minimums? I would be looking at the maximum.. 1 Quote
lee122485 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Max is 80 and hasn't changed. This is for people, like a buddy of mine, who scored a tad lower than that and that was his second time taking it. So now that changes his option of 153A all together. Quote
Rob1341 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Haha. I wonder if this applies to those who already tested as well or is it for those who test after March? I got a 49. Guess I'll be making a phone call tomorrow. Quote
Heinisch Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Isn't the SIFT a pass/fail? That's what I hear but don't know if it's true. Quote
skyreaper Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Yes, pass fail w no retakes if you pass. Looks like new passing score is 50. Quote
Yamer Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Phew.... Missed that bullet by a few months. Packet is approved and school date orders being printed, I should be good with my 49... 😒 trust me I'm not gloating a 49 1 Quote
TriViper Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 As Rob mentioned, I'm also wondering if this only applies to those who take it March 1 or later. Quote
Rob1341 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I certainly hope so I already took the afast, then the sift, have to retake the asvab and now this. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. I'll post what I get from CW3 Cook on here tomorrow. Quote
Flim Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 looks like they took it down off the site... um Quote
lee122485 Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Update from CW3 Cook, If you take the SIFT before March 1st, then you are still qualified to submit a packet. If you take the SIFT after, you have to score a 50 or better. Quote
Rob1341 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Ha. Poor guy, I called him and sent an email, was waiting on response. Lee122485 thanks for the info, that's good news for me. Quote
TriViper Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I know this has been floating around the message boards, but just to clarify: So essentially a score of 50 is the same as 80 (because it's a pass/fail)? I'm getting the impression the Board doesn't even see your score? Quote
Yamer Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 My guard board didn't even look at my score... Quote
electron_si Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 My guard board didn't even look at my score... That's totally different than the Active Duty/USAREC board they go through Quote
Yamer Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Agreed but my FEDREC board were active duty LTC's... Quote
Flim Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Need a little advice... I was suppose to take the Sift Friday morning, but this is the second time the recruiter said Meps can't do it after it has been scheduled for two weeks. I'm getting a little irritated... I've been working with an Oklahoma City recruiter, but work in Dallas. Would it be a problem to call a Dallas recruiter to try and take it at the Dallas meps? Quote
Yamer Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Recruiters hate that... They call it recruiter hopping? I think. I say heck no, go for it. Quote
skyreaper Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Yeah thats frustrating, I dont see a problem w trying to get in contact w the meps too to feel them out on what the problem is. My meps does the sift once a week and i remember the test proctor telling me about how they recently had to get a new system to administer the test on and that I was like the second person to take it since it went live... Quote
Flim Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I'm thinking about calling Meps and seeing what's up... Quote
TriViper Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Update from CW3 Cook, If you take the SIFT before March 1st, then you are still qualified to submit a packet. If you take the SIFT after, you have to score a 50 or better. So someone doesn't have to take it/pass AND be selected before March 1 in order for their sub 50 score to qualify them, correct? So as long as they took it, passed with a sub 50 score before March 1, 2014, they have a qualified score if they get selected after March 1? I'm probably beating this to death, but I hear whispers of different things on this (and I can't seem to get in touch with Mr. Cook). Quote
