Hello everyone! WOC Martin, CA ARNG, just finished my FedRec board (after a year of packet prep) two weeks ago, and it looks like I will be class 004, Starting around Nov 15th. "Was" a SSG, as both a military and civilian Air Traffic Controller (commercial airport in Southern California). If there's anyone known to be going in November, let me know! I'm only doing the 5 week course (rank enough and WLC complete) so it seems a lot in here are street-to-seat, but it would be good to connect anyway! Since I'm guard, and not active, I already know my airframe (UH-60... who would have guessed?!?). I've been reading the SOP and checking out forums about different classes, and it doesn't seem like school is going to be monumentally hard, though they put you in stressful situations (already work the "most stressful job in the world" fulltime.... LOL), so I'm basically anxious to start! Thanks everyone

You will, almost guaranteed, have *far* more rotary-wing flight time than anyone else in your flight class, especially with that 206 time. There's maybe four people in my entire flight class of 40 who have any ratings whatsoever, and most of those are PPL FW. Flight time is in no way, shape, or form a requirement for WOFT and the average flight time of WOFT applicants (close to zero) reflects this.

That said, don't rely on your flight time alone to get you selected. Your ratings and apparent contract work in the field will certainly help you, but make sure your LORs and essay are squared away.

I am not relying on my ratings to get me in. I was just curious. My back story is 12 years TIS 10 active, 2 deployments. Nothing extradorinary in my opinion but not a bad career.

Decided to leave AD do to X-wife medical condition, after divorce and being taken to cleaner by Xwife i decided mid-deployment to go the route of rotorwing (life long desire to eventually work fire suppression and SAR)....My unit said ok and I Attended LEA in Bend Oregon while comuting monthly to south central US for drill, finished in Dec 2013. have been flying part time as a contract pilot of tours for past few months.

Decided in June to go WOFT and began working on packet, got lucky and "Somehow" was lucky enough o take the family & commander of ANG Aviation Unit up on an aerial tour and got to talking. One thing led to another and i am hear.

LOR's

CW3 Aviator - O3 Aviation Commander - O6 AF Group Commander (aviator) - O6 (Ret) Wing Commander Aviator - Chief Rotor Pilot Leading Edge Aviation (30k+ hr instructor/ FAA Examiner) - Former Chief Pilot Leading Edge Aviation (now with PHI)

3 of my referaces have actually been in heli with me, 2 of them for evals/edorsements and known me as an aviator for 3 years.

You look like a strong candidate, but clean up your spelling and punctuation. This may be "just a forum," but you would be surprised at the people who lurk here and do not post. Proofread...and liking your own post is a little weird.

Just curious as to what your current age is?

So you know how I said that you might be surprised who reads these forums? Well, guess whose IP turned to them this morning when flying and asked, "so you should know about spike knock, I saw you posted about it online." :o Hey, sir! By the way, I promise I'll clear the tail before I do a pedal turn tomorrow.

After a very long and not so pleasant 2.5 months, I am happy to say that the most recent 09W BCT grads will be arriving at Rucker sometime Friday afternoon.

For those already checked in, what can we expect for the day-day norm for the next week or so? Any details about next weeks schedule would be nice. Still somewhat in the dark here in GA.

Youll in process, weekends are off, 0545 accountability, 0600 prt, 0830 accountability, 1400 accountability, everything inbetween is details and personal time to get your life together prior to class start.

I'll be with you all on Friday ! My wife and I are driving from Jackson. Basic kinda sucked, mostly because of to many 18 year olds... And no outside contact.

Should just be ACUs unless things have changed.

I'll just wear acu's then... Fort Jackson didn't know what to tell me since I'm the only street to seat they have seen in a long while.

Do they usually give weekend passes? My wife is still here with me and need to get her to the airport somehow...

I'm pretty sure your weekend(s) are free until you start. You might get a memo stating that you are supposed to stay in the local area though. I don't remember. If she needs to get to Dothan, you should be fine. Atlanta, I'm not sure.
