Some do. Personally, I don't get it. Doesn't it break the seal around the ear cup and increase the perceived noise level?

Posted (edited)

I used one when I was in the Corps. I bought one from Oregon Aero that works great in conjuction with the ear cup covers . I saw no increased noise when wearing it, and no issues with my ear cups not sealing agains my head. Made those long 10 hour crew days much more comfortable.

I used their 1/4" zeta liner and this skull cap. Super comfy.

These are the ear cup covers I used. I used the 1 1/8" ones, but fitment depends on what ear seals you have, I had the leather Oregon aero ones with Hush Kit on my helmet, that are in the second link below. In a CH-53E they helped quiet things down.

The custom molded? Lyster. Go to the audiology dept, and ask.

I've always worn one. I have molded CEPs so I don't worry about it causin more noise. Yes it sweats through but I figure it keeps any head funk out of my helmet. I shave my head bald so I don't like the feel of my bare melon inside the helmet.

Umm... That's not a skullcap. A skullcap fits inside that.

My apologies. Somehow I copied the wrong link when I had a few pages open. Here is the correct one.
