aeroengineer Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 I had a professor I tutored for write an lor. Explaining engineering at OSU is not a joke the aero engineering dept takes 75 students per acedemic year. I wish they could list my engineering GPA of major classes that is a 2.7 not counting Japanese language etc.. Quote
aeroengineer Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 I got picked up with a 2.02 GPA. You must just be more BA than me. Quote
I.am.Specialized Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 The 2.48 GPA is your problem. I would probably bet that's 75% of why you didn't get picked up. It may play a part but I highly doubt that is the reason he wasn't picked up. Quote
Optamix Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 In my board interview I brought my GPA up and framed it by letting them know I started my own marketing company and ran it profitably while in school and that effected my GPA. I also started and ran a martial arts club for several years. I also mentioned that Im not the same student I was in college and have grown and matured while in the work force and showed that Ibwas capable with my GT score and AFAST. The Major of the board wrote all that into the narrative of my interview sheet. Quote
aeroengineer Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Not having a degree I think played a part. I think only one civilian was picked up not having a degree. Quote
Optamix Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I was told by a CW5 that sits on the boards that they put heavy emphasis on degrees because the WO corps, while not requiring one for entry is moving toward that. As it is now getting picked up for CW3 is difficult with out a Masters. Quote

Lindsey Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 of course I googled I keep coming up with numbers that do not lead me to who I need to speak with What are you trying to find out? Try Mr. Garcia since he's the POC for Fort Rucker flight physicals. If he can't answer your question, he will know the number of someone who will. Quote
Optamix Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Find Ft. Ruckers base operators number and call and ask for flight med. That's how I got it. Quote

akscott60 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Getting picked up for CW3 is difficult regardless. Education is important, but it is not mandatory. Quote
aeroengineer Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 OK question is it appropriate in the resume to list things done for WOFT. Example set up own flight physical renewal and drove at my own expense to fort Knox. Or is there somewhere else in packet this might be more appropriate? Quote

aeroengineer Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Quick question what do you guys think, include that I am an NRA member and have a concealed carry permit or leave it out of resume. I think it speaks to my character. Quote

GraphiteBlur Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Leave it out. It doesn't say enough about you that would make u a better WO or pilot. Adding smaller details can sometimes be construed as grasping or over fluffing. If the conversation ever comes up, you could voice your opinion then, but it's not important for the packet. Quote
