WTFoski
About your question on how much not having a degree would hurt you.... I had the exact same concern you did. A WO recruiter from Bragg came up to Ft Lee and I was able to attend his brief and have a 15 minute sit down with him to talk about the process and my chances. He used to be a 1st sergeant and went WO. The way he explained it to me was that there's a reason a degree isn't required to be a WO. For the purpose of a WO, experience is much more important than a degree. Of course having a degree is only going to help you, but if you don't have the degree you better have the experience to separate yourself from others. Don't sell yourself short. Based on your post I definitely think you have the experience.
StockTrader
So anyone nervous for November? Yup. More so because this has been a dream of mine for a very long time. Unfortunately I listened to family earlier in life and fell into corporate america. Thought I missed the chance to be a pilot by not going OCS or West Point. Found WOFT while searching to see if I had passed the age cutoff. I feel like this is a chance to get on track with a path in life I shouldve attempted much, much earlier.

FLYC2A
Welcome aboard man and good luck! If you bring that APFT up a little bit I think you'll be in good shape(pun intended). You can really up it in a month if you get after it. Just so everyone has an idea of what FY15 looks like. This is what was told to me. "FY15 flight school accessions took a hit due to funding restrictions. Right now the plan is to bring in only 217 applicants for next year. That is a little over half of what we want to bring in to maintain our aviation force. Of that, 163 will be in service soldiers. The remaining 54 seats will be civilian guys like yourself" Can you tell us who told you this???

Creep0321
Those numbers do not seem to bad, but I'm curious how it compares to previous FY's? Any one know if there is a pre-determined number of interservice transfers? or are we all just grouped together as in-service candidates? Signal2rotary
I fly my rc heli, with a cw3 and a few other pilots that fly rc planes and quads. He had lunch with the aviation branch manager last week. The branch manager told him out of all the applicants last year 23% were selected. Not sure what the total numbers come out to. WTFoski
I'm pretty stoked tomorrow starts the last full month before the actual board month. This will sort of be the calm before the storm. When November gets here I'll be a nervous wreck. My packet has already been submitted and received by USAREC. I still need to submit my civilian resume and do another PT test to try to up my score. Unrelated news, first case of Ebola in the US was diagnosed in Dallas today. But October will probably be the last busy month I have at work, it's crazy how weather changes that. November will mostly be spent looking on this forum and texting Jeff every 2 seconds, haha. StockTrader
Yeah. I get slightly depressed whenever I see the timer I have set for 17 November. But October will probably be the last busy month I have at work, it's crazy how weather changes that. November will mostly be spent looking on this forum and texting Jeff every 2 seconds, haha.Im fine with that haha. Like i said, once the 17th hits ill be texting you every 20 minutes to see if you heard anything. Im trying to take my mind away from it with a new workout routine. Although weighing in at 202 with a 203 cutoff weight I probably shouldnt be lifting and should just be running. I'm probably at 205-207 now. StockTrader
What also worries me is just an aspect of my personality. I like to do things myself to make sure they get done right. Having to trust that someone else submitted my paperwork the correct way irks me a little bit. Just gotta have faith I guess.

Creep0321
JeffinPA - I know the exact feeling about having other people handle my paperwork. At my unit for the past 7 years our Admin shop has been horrible, I have done EVERYTHING my self, starting jump and dive pay, BAH, paperwork after I got married. The one time I decided to let our admin shop change my jump pay to freefall pay they screwed up and I got a 27$ paycheck cause they docked like $1500 from me (which I eventually got back). Anyways, what workout program are you on now? dont ever give up strength training in order to reduce/keep off weight, it helps more then it hurts. I have always been close to my max weight(178/186) but have a few workout problems that might bennifit you, and they have the added bonus of being focused on the APFT/Army OCS type stuff. Hit me up with a PM if your interested.

Did 3 rounds of insanity after college and eventually fell to about 185 at 6-7% body fat. Everyone told me I looked sick, in a bad way. So now I am going for 205 at about 9-10% BF. I hit my stength goals over the past few weeks so now I want to add some decent size to it. My body is very responsive to my diet so I have to be on point just to maintain. I mix in HIIT to keep some of the fat off for now about 2x a week. The HIIT training is really what helped me shave about 3 minutes off of my 2 mile time. Welcome Jayden. Don't be so hard on yourself, you have a completed packet and that sometimes is the hardest part. There are always areas everyone can improve, but you do have strong points (TIS, APFT, GT score). I bet interviewing with the CW4 from the 160th was pretty interesting. Good luck to you as well. Battalion board score of 74/75. Very good comments talking about my maturity, experience, and enthusiasm. I believe I got the one point removed because I accidentally acknowledged the female CAPT as sir. Retaking my PT test on 20 OCT, shooting for a 300 this time.
