akscott60
If you are a SERE C grad, with appropriate documentation, you should have no issues skipping it at Rucker...

Yamer
Wocs in April
Velocity173
What's the differenceLol! Kinda been through this already. What goes on during the course is classified. Once you get to Rucker all your student buddies will fill you in anyway. A word of caution. I've known students who have gotten sent back because they had a little too much gouge on the course. Don't let that be you.
Talon64
I feel you velocity. I'm not trying to get specifics on the course per say. Just didn't know if the letters meant like normal sere or Arctic survival type sere or maybe they represented a different location etc. Thanks for the words of wisdom. You can volunteer for Arctic survival once you get to your unit. Had a friend do that in Germany. Think he went to Norway for the course. I'm not a cold person so no way I'd volunteer for that nonsense.
Lindsey
If anyone coming up through the pipeline is worried about HOST/Dunker, don't be. We just received a brief today and Dunker will be eliminated from flight training beginning in October as another way of saving money. We were told the decision has already been made.* *Standard it's-the-Army-so-things-can-always-change disclaimer applies.
Creep0321
Ha, I loved doing the dunker, it was a lot of fun for me, that sucks they are getting rid of it though.
Yamer
Ha guess hhc doesn't know yet cause I just got a dunker paper from ms brown today. That's kind of cool I guess, I'm not sure how I feel about this change yet
SBuzzkill
That's f*cking retarded.
d10
Not really. I spent my career between Campbell and Afghanistan. Dunker for everyone has always been unnecessary. If you go to a unit that operates over water it can still be a local training requirement.

I was under the impression the army was going to start focusing more on overwater ops?!
apacheguy
If the army can save a nickel by closing down the dunker, they will. It's 1999 all over again. Pretty soon you'll have to pay for your MRE's when you go to the field.
Talon64
Good thing i have like 10 boxes of MREs saved from these tech schoolers
akscott60
I just did a HEEDS recert because of our overwater missions. Always fun. They are going to make a Dunker program out here in the ROK.
AVIATORWANNABE
I would rather do SERE then spend extended periods of time in B Co.
